Born on the small tropical island of Mauritius, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, Chef Shariq graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary in 2003 from Ecole Hôtelière Sir Gaëtan Duval, a renowned Hotel Management and Culinary Arts in Mauritius and completed his apprenticeship at the luxurious resort of Le Saint Geran.
In 2008 Chef Shariq joined the team of Auberge de l’Ile, a 2 Michelin Star Restaurant in Lyon France as the Chef de Partie. Working with the Meilleur ouvrier de France World Pastry Champion, Mr. Pascal Molines. There he acquired important roots and skills for the perfect execution of classic French cuisine. Chef Shariq has been Chef at Domaine de L’etoile, a restaurant owned and run by Anahita World Class Sanctuary and Sous Chef at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. After spending the last 6 months traveling around South East Asia, Chef Shariq is happy to be back in Edmonton joining the Brassier Bardot Team as Executive Chef.
